APPENDIX A. Interpreting Variables of the Oracle Database MIB

This appendix provides information to help you interpret individual variables in the private Oracle Database MIB. Specifically, it includes sections covering SNMP variables in the following tables:

For information about the database instance performance ratios listed in this appendix, see the section, "Most Useful Database Instance Performance Ratios," in Chapter 3, "Designing Management Applications Based on Oracle MIBs." For more information about the Oracle7 database server and specific topics covered in this appendix, see the ORACLE7 Server Reference, the Oracle7 Server Application Developer's Guide, and the Oracle7 Server Concepts Manual.

Until this MIB is finalized, all variables and tables include the letter X in order to designate that they are experimental (oraXDbSysTable, for example). In the interest of simplicity, this appendix reflects the table and variable names as they will appear once the MIB is finalized. Thus, these names do not include the letter X (oraDbSysTable, for example).
